Charity night to remember

Gala night

Gala night
Had a fantastic evening at the weekend at a charity bash I attended with my wife in aid of a local charity we support. It is a children’s hospital and we have been involved since it launched in the early part of 2001. The evening was the crowning glory of a big year and the organisers certainly did not let us down as it was a sparkling night that raised a small fortune.
We had all sorts at the event from local celebs off the TV to our local Football team who sent a huge entourage down to the event and who themselves donated not only their time but many were very active in the charity auction and raffle part of the night.
My wife looked sensational as always and she even amazed me with new clip in hair extensions that gave her long hair for the first time in a very long time. When she came downstairs it was such a nice surprise and this almost set up the night which ended up being one of the best nights out I have had ever.
The hospital does so much great work in the community and has touched us after their fantastic treatment of our little girl when she fell ill in 2003. It was a terrible time but they did everything they could to make things easier and their treatment and dedication meant our precious little girl pulled through and has never looked back since.
This is not the only reason we get involved though, the cost of running the place is enormous and the little extras that make things more comfortable for the Children and their families simply would not be affordable without the generosity of the community it services. The next big event is one of my favourites and that is the Santa visit and if that is half the success of the gala night it will make my Christmas.
